Ancient Aliens?

It is truly breathtaking to contemplate the mysterious and the unexplained, isn't it?   I greatly enjoy the Ancient Aliens series for making me aware of ancient structures and unusual places.

I came away from this series with a few thoughts.

1. Both fundamentalists and believers in ancient aliens take ancient myths very seriously.   The ancient aliens group argues that there is no need to speculate that these things were magic.   Fundamentalists tend to take only their own scriptures literally, but it is difficult to take one culture's myths literally and then to hypothesize that all the others were making it up.

2. The conventional story starts the history of human culture with writing.    In 6000 years we went from spear fights to space flights.   However, current mainstream scholars suspect human speech might have been possible for the last 100,000 years of our development.

3. Some megolithic sites contain stones that we could only move with great effort today.

4. Some megolithic sites contain stones that are cut with magnificent precision, something that we could only do recently.

5. Stones cannot be carbon dated, so dates for ancient structures can only be found if carbon based life was buried in a similar layer of nearby Earth.

6. There are some problems with the conventional story of egypt, such as the weathering patterns on the sphinx.

7. There have been a number of worldwide catastrophes in the last 100,000.

Mistakes in perspective

The Beatles wrote 226 songs that were not hits.
Pete Rose struck out over a thousand times.
99 percent of all the species that God intelligently designed have died and gone extinct.

“I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”  - M. Jordan
